Professional tile installation Amityville, New York – Our client inherited a home in Amityville, New York, and sought a professional tile installation after beginning the process of renovating her bathroom. The previous floor tile had been removed and the wall tiles in the bathtub area (wet area) had been removed as well as the walls surrounding the bathtub area.
I measured the area and began to explain how we would install the floor tiles. I told her since the bathroom floor consisted of plywood we would need to create a barrier between the bathroom floor and the new tile floor by placing and securing concrete backerboard to the plywood.
She told me she had met with a previous contractor who told her he could install the floor tile directly to the plywood. I explained that although the floor was level that installing tile directly to the plywood would eventually lead to the cracks in both the grout and tile causing the new tile floor to fail as the plywood would expand and contract at a different rate from the tile.
With regard to the bathtub walls, (wet area) I explained that we would install concrete backerboard and prior to installing the subway wall tile we would waterproof the backerboard using a waterproofing and crack prevention membrane.
I provided the proposal, showed her my contractor license, liability insurance and after answering a few questions was awarded the project.

We began installing the subway tile on the walls and returned the following day to complete installing the subway tile on the walls and to install the hexagon floor tile. After allowing the thin-set to properly dry we returned on day three to grout the subway wall tiles and hexagon floor tiles.
